AMD Launches AMD Athlon 64 Processor High-Tech Treasure Hunt; Grand Prize Winner Will Receive a Desktop System Based on the Upcoming AMD Athlon 64 Processor and $6,400 Cash

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 2003--AMD AMD today announced the AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor High-Tech Treasure Hunt, a virtual geocaching contest where participants answer clues to find 64 global locations which have significance to technology, 64-bit computing or AMD. Each correctly identified and submitted location enters eligible participants in a grand prize drawing for an AMD Athlon 64 processor-based desktop system and $6,400 cash.

Eligible participants are invited to register for the AMD Athlon 64 Processor High-Tech Treasure Hunt and virtually seek out the 64 global locations. Contest information and complete rules can be found at www.amd.com/hightechhunt The contest will conclude on Sept. 15, 2003.

Geocaching has become a growing trend among technology enthusiasts. According to www.geocaching.com, geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for global positioning system (GPS) users and can now be found in more than 180 countries. AMD's virtual geocache contest allows participants to answer questions virtually about various landmarks.

The AMD Athlon 64 processor will launch on Sept. 23, 2003, and will be the industry's only Windows(R)-compatible 64-bit PC processor. My wife and I Geocache in KY, if there is a location here and its not to far we can try to find it! :)
