I am trying to make a back-up of one of my DVD's, and I am really confused. I ripped the DVD with DVD Decrypter, and then tried to burn a copy of it, but for some reason it will not let me fit the ripped DVD onto one blank DVD. It is a one disc DVD, and theoretically it should be able to fit onto one DVD...what am I doing wrong? Do I need to compress it with some other piece of software?

most dvds that you buy in the stores are dual-layered and hold a lot more than the maximum 4.7gb's of data that one blank holds. currently there is no way to make a blank dual layer, but there are programs that can compress the data down with little to no loss of quality. i didn't follow oni's link but i bet thats what its to :)
