It is not as fast as a fellow user can get a disc out. But you can get free copies of the OS.

Possibly. The main idea behind the thread is to get Linux to people with no or slow internet. This is a year or two old and more people have fast connections now so it's a little bit dated admittedly. Also, More Linux people are sending out free distros on request. One thing though: Do we really need an on-request torrent seed when the distros are already on-line for downloading?

Bah! I was hoping for a "just needs a modernisation" post. I've had a stickied thread for nearly 4 years now and I still want that kudos

theres no need to completely abolish this thread, i'm just saying that the majority of distro's have fixed their download problems and have their own native torrents as well as several fast mirrors. So, for the majority of people, this thread isn't needed, but if it even helps one person out, then it's worth it.

# edit: i guess that is completely contradictory to my other post, where i said this thread isn;t worth it. I think I just didn't choose my words correctly in the other post.

i should be able to get most distros to anyone in uk as my dad is a distro mad oldy.lol

I can do any burning you may have for within the UK if you have a URL of the item you want burned and the CD's needed to burn the files. and postage, PM me for details.
