I just found this out... Oh man. I looked at my Bios and the Hyper Threading was turned OFF!!! I called Dell and they said that they usually ship thier PCs out like that if you were one of the first to get a Pentium 4 with HT.

So for you people on this site, (Probably not many) who don't look at your Bios too often like me, make sure you check it out.

UGH, and to think of all the extra Folding I could have done. :(
 
Its because there are alot of drivers that don't work well at all with HT. Many cable modem USB drivers, and home/computer entertainment devices, i.e. simplefi as one of them, will get fatal errors if HT is on.
 
They said that they did that to the PCs that first had Typer Threading when it first came out because they didnt know what problems it could make.
