    Online Companies and SHipping

Well with out a gripes and moans section this has become it,

though this is not only a gripe, I also ask,

Why would a company refuse shipping to a country?

    I want this item

    http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.a...49178494&cid=2

and have wanted it for quite some time, after a few e-mails I have not been able to saw them to ship it to Canada, which seems to be the only place they don't ship for some unknown reason.

newegg, is anther site, I would be willing to pay shipping charges to deal with newegg, they have great prices, even if you have to add shipping costs they are cheaper then many Canadian business.

WHY don't they ship elseware? if people are willing to pay the shipping, how does turning away sales make sence?

What possible reasons are there to Not ship to a location that does not have Political blocks?

There are all sorts of issues about credit card fraud that can end up biting vendors in the keester as well. It's one thing to deal with the fraud laws in all 50 of our United States, but it's another to deal with them across international borders. Also, consumer protection laws, returns, etc. It's just a huge headache. That's my take on it anyhow. PLUS you Canadians are forced to pay some crazy taxes--what's that tax you have on CD-R disks? It like quadruples the cost of a blank CD, doesn't it? Is it on DVD-R media, too?

Export issues and bureaucratic red tape on both countries parts. It's a hassle to set up and risky for the firm. Most don't think the benefit outweighs the cost so they don't do it.

See I understand all of the arguments for not shipping out of the country Period!,

    but what about excluding countries.

boystuff.co.uk ships to the USA, but does not ship to Canada,

Apart from Taxes which should not be a factor since some American states have sales taxes I see no reason a company should exclude a nation for shipping,

I'm pretty much just a complainer
