They will be familiar with the equipment and be able to troubleshoot better if (when) you have a problem. There's tons of decent stuff out there now. I'm using an older Cisco 675 (which although a bit sparce on features still works fine). Your ISP may have different options, in which case you will want to decide based on price/features.
