windows 2003 and pc camera

Windows XP use to be able to see the camera like it was just some input device in the explorer menu. Now 2k3 sees it. I can use it with MSN. but i can't get it in messenger. Any ideas?

did u turn on the windows image aquisition service? this will be needed to capture image to cam. start-administrative tools-services, "windows image aquisition service" select automatic startup and start the service . should be golden.
