ive been in contact with randy lo (komusa support) he says that the adata pc4200 runs well, some into the mid 290's. but they havent come across any 300+ sticks. however he said they have some brand new hyperram coming with the just releasedhynix 3.5ns ddr 550 chips. they got some samples already and he said they were having some stability issues associated with these chips. so as soon as their, memory builder (probably adata) gets this issue worked out, they are gonna offer it. goody goody i cant wait...

I can get mine to 295 1:1 memtest stable, but the system as a whole fails miserably doing anything with 3D for more than about two minutes... I'm chalking it up to a motherboard incompatibility as I get tearing artifacts in 3D anything at those sorts of speeds without overclocking my AGP port or my actual video GPU / memory.

On one hand, I wish I had a better motherboard... But on the other hand, I wouldn't mind maybe voltmodding it further if I can grow a bit more testicles ;)

Any updates on this Komusa Adata RAM?

Called them today and they said they were out of stock, but that they would have some in Friday, 6-18. Of course, if I buy some Friday and try to pick up at will call, they won't have time to test them...

flapperhead, you still in contact with them? any news?

i kinda got on a wrong foot with those ppl... :p .

finally just got back up. my new prommy wasnt making contact with the cpu.. almost burned up.. yes i have established a very cordial relationship with randy and komusa. ive emailed him twice and he said he'll let me know soon as possible. i think it has something to do with chips instability( thats what randy says) cause ocz isnt putting them on the streets yet either....WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!! me want ddr600
i think ill nag randy some more today...

Komusa Adata report

Hey guys, I got a 2X512 kit of Komusa's 4200 Adata on Friday (nice red PCB). I actually picked it up at will call since I live close, and they said it would be cool. Otherwise, I would have got it next week when I am too busy to play with it. Small little suite in Walnut, CA, but they said they are looking for a bigger location, so they must be doing well. I got a good feeling in there, as if they aim to please, rather than fleece.

So anyway, I plugged this baby in and it works like a champ @ 284 and 2.85v (my ASUS won't volt any higher). Plenty of benches and I played hours of UT 2004 without a hiccup (last time before vacation ends).

284 is the time-proven 3-D stable clocking for my CPU, although my highest 3DMark2001 bench is 3.56 (297) with a lot of air-conditioning, and I have actually booted into Windows at 3.6 (EDIT: NOTE THIS IS PRIOR TO USING ADATA, WHICH I HAVE NOT TRIED YET ABOVE 284), so long as I don't run anythng other than CPUZ or wcpuid. ;) I might try a higher clock just to see how the RAM keeps up, but it can cause data corruption and I actually use my PC unlike some bench mongers and work starts Monday so I can't be re-installing Winidows this week!

Oh, and for the "experts" on other sites that think that tight timings trump clockrates, well perhaps for Athlons, but not my Pentium:

yeah they seem to be a very reputible company. i have established a cordial friendship with one of their techs' randy lo. i think their adata pc4200 is a good product and they underrate its speed capabilities. they could easily sell it for more as pc4400, but sell it cheaper as pc4200. that has made them alot of loyal customers, cause there's nothing like buying pc4200 and getting at LEAST a 20/30 mhz overclock.

too bad my cpu wont even get to 266, if only it can do 4ghz, i can at least see what it can do at its rated speed.

Hooah, just saw this thread, i feel a bit stupid now making my thread (somewhere close here) This ram really does rock :D:D:D. *runs to the store*

Is there any other place i can get them because i wanna order some but they dont ship in canada(i think). I want that fast and cheap :) Btw when you choose Adata it gives you the option to have heatspreaders but in the page it says it comes with heatspreaders. What do I choose, If i can order them.
