Well, Pricewatch just updated their site so the Celeron II 850 is there now. I think the lowest price was 86 dollars.

I ordered my Celeron II 800 about 1 week ago, never got here so i canceled it. Maybe i will change the order to a Celeron II 850?

Anyone think the 850 will overclock higher than the 800 does? the 850 will be like a remarked 566, but as we thought that about the 800, we were certainly wrong. Thanx in advance for all your input!

Yeah, the 850 is also available overhere at my local dealer in the Netherlands, and it's even cheaper then the 800 when I bought mine at the time! Since the mulitplier is 8.5, I guess getting to 133Mhz FSB will be a lot tougher cuz that would be 1133Mhz. My 800 at 1080 still remains a bit buggy (keeps locking up about once every other day) and I think it's my mobo which is great to push a 66FSB Celly, but a 100FSB Celly, I dunno. She's 100% rock solid (renders video all night, loops 3Dmark all night etc.) at 112Mhz FSB, of which I'm certain the 850 will do also out of the box. The Intel roadmap shows there's gonna be a Celeron 900, 950 and 1Ghz, but OCing these baby's will get a lot tougher cuz of those mulptipliers. The 1Ghz will reach 1120 at 112FSB, which is not going to be easy unless they will become cDO's or rejected Tualatin's?!?!

That is a good point about the Celeron II 850. I know my motherboard (ABIT BF6) is stable at 133fsb and up, because i had my Cyrix Samuel (unlocked) running on a 166fsb for a while until it died.

Is your 800 fast? I can't wait until i purchase mine. I am actually thinking about getting a Celeron II 800 or maybe even a p3 700/750. I can't decide!

Well, in the meantime, i have this smoking P3 450 @ 608 135fsb 2.3v (2.0v default) 3.6VIO. Runs so fast, i can't even begin to imagine a P3 750/ 700 @ 133fsb+!

In 3dmark2001 with my VooDoo3 @ default, P3 450 @ 608 CAS2 i get 1306. That is with a really horrible 10gb hard drive @ 5400rpm UDMA33. I definetly need a new hard drive(s). Thinking about going the raid direction, but i don't think my Iwill Side Raid66 will be suffiecent. What do you think?

Well at 135FSB she's flying! Bootup is noticeably faster, in particular when the system goes into GUI mode, everything that loads upon startup really 'pounds away' faster, and this is at CL333. The thing is that at 112FSB she comes damn close to that cuz I can run my RAM at CL222 and the PCI/IDE is flying at 37.5Mhz. I ran 3Dmark2001 for your comparison and my V770 TNT2 scores 1193@112FSB and 1285@135FSB. So it's clear that our videocards are simply the bottleneck here!

I liked the SideRAID so much I bought two a few months ago. From all reviews I read it was the top performer, edging even the Promise cards out. Just don't flash the bew BIOS...it failed twice for me and I've had to RMA both cards.

You may want to upgrade to the ATA100 version (I have the ATA66 as well and an EPoX ATA100 RAID I bought for $35) if you get new drives.

I would also opt for the Pentium over the Celly. 700s are going out of production if they haven't already and perform better than the Celerons. They aren't all that expensive anymore either....
