not really sure where to put this so if this isnt the correct board please move it...

ok i just obtained a Divx movie in a .zip and instead of there just being a .avi file, there are .avi , .idx , and .sub . I have never heard of .avi , .idx, and .sub files....

anywho whenever i open the .avi , only the video part plays. the audio does not work. when opened in windows media player, it attempts to download a codec but fails. when opened in divx player, i get this message:

divx.gif

can someone help me get the audio working? thanks a lot!

Try installing Nimo's codec pack and see if that helps. A google search will find it for you.

idx and sub files are used by the media players for subtitles (IDX is the Index file, and SUB is the file containing the actual subtitles)
