what is he best lite-on dvd/r drive out

I have a Lite On LDW411S. It is a great burner. It is a DVD+/-RW @ 4x. I would suggest their 8X drive. I like Lite On Drives.

I have the newer 451S (supose to replace the awesome 411) and I like it a lot - works great at 4x with Memorex -R media.

anyone try the 812s yet or is that just a waste of a few bucks

I have an LWD-851s. It is a quality drive. Burns dvd's in about 7 minutes and hasn't made a coaster yet. The only bad thing I would say about it is that the drive door is pretty flimsy looking and kind of groans when it opens, but to me that is not that big of a deal.
