i know this question was asked recently and i have been searching for it but can't find it! i just received my mobile 2500+ and it's only recognizing it as a 600 MHZ how do i correct this to make it read correctly?

abit nf7-s
amd atholon mobile xp2500+
256 meg 400 ddr memory
fugitsu 20 gig HD
nvidia xfx 5200 fx 128 meg video card
netstream 2000 video card

The mobiles will read as a 600/800 CPU...you have to reset the CPU multi./FSB to match what you want...and it will always read as a unknown CPU...so dont freak on that ;)...

thanks and that was a quick response! since the system is new i decided to set it to run @ 1.84 until i can do better as far as a cooling fan. i want to let it burn in a little and then try overclocking. when i first ask a question about cooling this cpu,i just wanted to get the system up and running and then work on the overclocking.

thanks again :D
