L12 mod question

the mod i saw said to use telephone wire. do use the whole wire that's twisted together? i tried that and it was too thick , and it kept fraying anyway. so ,i tried just one individual wire and that went in perfect. does it matter how thick the wire is?

just use a thin piece of the wire.... but thick enough so it won't break.

thanks. i guess im set then. just have to wait for my new heatsink to arrive.
