what exactly is SLI? Yes I did a thread search but didn't really get the technicalities I was looking for.
 
SLI is running two cards in tandem with each other. One card will process and render a portion of the screen and the second video card will process and render another portion. Essentially doubling your processing power.

When nVidia bought out 3Dfx they bought the rights to SLI (the copyrighted name). Its mainly a marketing strategy cause of how well SLI worked with the Voodoo 2
