Mine run around 50 degrees celcius, which is a little hot but theyre stacked in a sff, try to keep them in the 40's if possible, which isn't hard with adequate case cooling.

i have
hitachi 80GB SATA 7.2k @ 42°C
IBM 40gb #^$&# 7.2k @ 40°C
and some other 20gb unknown rpm at 36°C
thinking about getting another hitachi 80gb sata for raid 0 :)

btw: these guys raises my system temperature by a lot, my case temp wont go below 40° now. lol

thanks everyone i was worried cause i was hitting 45 when my fans were on low and wanted to make sure i didn't blow my Maxtor 200gb HD 7,200 RPM

yeah dont worry about it. my old maxtor 120 gig hdd's used to get up to 60 celsius on full load. im glad i sold those things :D but yeah, a hdd fan should keep temps down low. good luck with the raid 0 setup :)

i got mine with no fans even near the hdd, and a bunch of ide cables stacked on top of it, at the low 30s. 80gb maxtor
