Is there any difference between the 34gb and the 76gb raptors. This is a single drive, no raid.

Difference in Performance

It is slightly better. 4.5MS seek vs 5.2MS seek for the 36. The transfer rate of the 74 is also a bit better.Kaso said:

The 74gb also uses fluid bearings, so the operation is quieter and cooler. For some reason I seem to remember that the 74gb version also has TCQ while the 36gb doesn't. Can anyone confirm that?
