A current reflection of the total Hard Disk Drive storage overclockers are packing in their rigs these days.

What do you have under the hood?

Since im poor...:)

1 Western Digital 60 gb 7200 RPM IDE
C: Windows XP - 19.61gb
M: My Documents - 26.3gb
N: Windows 2003 Standard - 9.86gb

1 Seagate 80gb 7200 RPM SATA
F: Hard Drive - 74.5gb

Runs pretty good...the SATA really boosts loading time for games over IDE. I would put them both on SATA but i need another Seririel 2 SATA adpater. SATA drivers just cost to much for me, im still using an AMD Athlon XP 2000. I would simply put the Seagate on IDE but my motherboard really doesnt like it (Abit NF7-S Rev2). I did everything for it...so i threw it on a IDE 2 SATA adpater and it works all good now :)

3 x 160 GB HDs = 480 GB, but you're missing the 430 - 490 range, so I just hit the 500 GB button.

No sata, I'm afraid.
1 x 160 GB WD (eew)
2 x 160 GB Seagate (good stuff, very quiet)

THIS is what comes from reading the Best Buy ads every Sunday... and not checking on-line first...

currently i have a WD 120GB drive, i would like to get a 160GB+ drive for more space, but i would need a new MB since one of my IDE slots is dead:(

On my workstation, currently, is about 800GB.

36GB 15K Fujitsu MAS U320 for OS
147GB 10K Fujitsu MAP U320 for working files and active storage
2x160GB Maxtor SATA general storage
120GB WD PATA general storage from PCI controller
250GB Hitachi 7K250 PATA general storage from PCI controller

Opticals run on the onboard IDE channels. Backups run on DLT tape on two of my fileservers.

an 80 and 120 in the desktop with an 80 external for backups of important things.

Next one will have a pair of 300GB+ drives.

WD raptor 72 gig,
160gig WD SATA in the mail.... too lazy to burn off my mp3's and movies.

Now that I added a 120Gig SATA in here yesterday, I'm up to around 240Gig...

My PATA drives are still in there.. a 40Gig for Windows, an 80Gig for apps, games, etc. The 120Gig is going to be used for the storage I used to keep on the 80Gig (photos, downloads, etc.)

I would just ditch the PATA drives, and only run the SATA in here, so I could use the PATA's in another machine, but it won't install Win2K without me putting the SATA drives on a floppy, and I don't have a floppy drive in this machine, heh. It's never been a problem until now. I think I'm gonna grab one of those floppy drives with the USB2 CompactFlash & other media reader doohickies. Then if I pick up another 120Gig, I'll just raid it.

IM running a 40GIG Seagte 7200 PATA for my OS

Then Ive got a 4gig seagate which i use for small programs i download ofthe net
and the Iv got 6gig Quantum Which I use half for a page file and the rest of the space for ods and ends. Which bring me up to a total of 50gig

Its more than enough for me for know. until i get me new rig that is

1 80GB WD SE that I got for $20 after MIR at Officemax
1 120GB WD SE

The 80GB is normally my testing hard drive but my 120 filled up so I added the 80.

260 here. 2 X 80GB Seagate SATA's, 1 X 80GB WD(JB), 1 X 20GB(BB).
I'm probably going to yank out the two WD's and replace with 160GB Seagate SATA's next month. I think that will be enough space for the lifetime of this rig (I hope). I still remember years back when my brother got a 1.2GB WD, and remember asking him what the heck he needed all that space for. Man, was I naive back then.

2 60 gig Western Digital caviar, one with 8 meg cache and the other with 2. Still not nearly enough space though

1 Maxtor 200Gb, 1 Maxtor 120Gb, 1 IBM 120GXP 60Gb, 1 Hitachi 7K60 60Gb, 1 Hitachi 40GNX 40Gb.. all in two rigs

Just a reminder, the poll is only asking about people's MAIN rig... Not total storage across all systems. ;) No biggie if you included eveyrthing though, there are plenty of votes to even out any inconsistencies.
