i dunno if pci-e will make lappies upgradable. current laptops use agp, but you can't just slap a new agp card in there.

i read about ati and nvidia working on upgradable laptop video cards tho, don't think it had anything to do with pci-e tho.

I upgrade my video card every 12 months or so. I received my 6800GT tonight, so even though there will be SLI and all that good stuff in the next 6-8 months, i'll still only upgrade at the end of next year :)

i think nv40 will call r500 daddy and like it. ;)

Can't really argue with this comment, but I am pretty sure Nvidia will have something new to compete with the R5XX.

I don't see another release of new cards for about 6 months. I haven't even seen anything hinting ati or nvidia has a new core set up for a next gen card...

ATI taped out R480 core to be released on fourth quarter....
just like I said, R480 in fourth quarter, R520 in first quarter 05.
and of course, nvidia will follow just as usual.
that's the way graphic cards are, short cycles.
some said next gen will be 6 months-1 year, that's total bs.

Why haven't any other ram companies pitched in to help Ati and Nvidia since I'm hearing the #1 major delay is the low supply of GDDR3 memory? Unless Samsung is the Only company that know how to make this ram and wont give away the secrent lol. Unless im wrong about what I've heard.

na, ati nor nvidia give a rats behind about releasing the best technology asap, its all timed, the current cards are still selling like hotcakes and vendors cant keep them on the shelf, its all about money and they will wait till everyone gets a new video card then youll start seeing the better cards come out.
