I recall reading some short articles (not here) about a year or two ago about how to change the boot BIOS screen on GeForce cards to something the user would perfer more. A logo or something for instance. I know there is a risk involved, but does anyone know what applications are needed for this and how to do it?

Down load drdflash.exe and nvflash 446, those are needed as well as x bios editor.

Make a bootable floppy using drdflash, and place nvflash 446 on the floppy as well.

Reboot the computer using "A", it will take you to dos. While in dos, type this command "nvflash -b". That will save your original bios, and you will need it for editing.

Take the floppy out and reboot the system.

Copy "leaving the backup bios on the floppy" that bios to the desktop. There you will open it with x bios editor, hopefully you have this installed by now.

Once opened, you will see the VGA signature that your card uses as a startup screen. You can delete that, and replace it with what you want.

Once you have typed in what you would like it to say, use the "save as" function and save it to the floppy with the other files. Use a simple name, like "new.rom".

Reboot your system using the floppy. Type in the command nvflash -5 -6 -f "new.rom", that will flash your card with the new signature. If it ask you "Do you really want to flash?" or something like that, type in capital letters "YES".

Reboot your computer, and you should see the signature you made for the card.

GL!

Remember, this is "ohne Gewähr".;)
