My CDRW is not being rcognized the drivers are present but it's not recognized. There is power going to it cause the door opens. This
is a Samsung TS-H492. The same thing happens when I try the
Lite-ON. This was working fine the other day. Any ideas ?

Check the IDE connection? It that's a no-go, try booting into a Linux Live (knoppix or Slax Live) and see if they see it. That usually rules out software problems, unless it's a really obscure device.

I had the same problem for over a month.I was using Nero 6 and one day all my cd drives began producing errors and would not write at all.after updating to the latest nero package including InCD it all stsrted working again.Weird,I thought my dvdrw was gone for good.
