ok... i just built a new system, it has been up and going for about 2.5 weeks. then this morning, i start it up, it loads windows, gets to the log-on screen and it just holds on "windows is starting up" and never gets past? do i need to reinstall windows?

never mind... my fault... i am such an idiot...

dont you hate when you spend an hour or two trying to fix something, then give up and post, and then 30 seconds later you figure everything out

just had a tweak program installed that was trying to auto-logon for me using the traditional log on screen while windows was trying to load the fast switch xp screen... a simple alt-tab during loading let me cancel the auto-logon.
