BFG 6800GT skip at doom3, need help

when I play doom3 on ultra or high quility, it freeze for about 1/4 sec. every time I entire new area. when I turn the setting down to medium it runs fine. so I wonder what might cause this happen.
my setup is
A64 3200 @2.4ghz
OCZ pc3200 plat. rev.2
BFG 6800GT @ 370/stock basically at stock BFG setting.
I am using 66.77 and I put setting at
Image setting = High perfermance
Antialising off both in doom and in control panel
Anisotropic at 2x
1280 x 1024 in doom. what can cause this problem to happen, settings? or something else?, could it be my PSU since I only got 350W, but it work find if I turn done the setting in doom3
I though 6800gt will run doom fine even on ultra setting

now I only get 2255 in 3dmark5, before I got around 49xx, whats wrong, I reinstall my window once could this cause the problem??

could be a driver problem. Try reinstalling the drivers and try the 66.81's they rock. Make sure you uninstall the current drivers then reboot into safe mode and use driver cleaner to purge the old driver from your system. Then reboot into normal mode and install the 66.81's. Hope it helps.

Are you using the beta chipset drivers (for NF4, can't remember exactly what they're called)? I tried them and got about the same 3dMark05 score as you... they killed my gaming performance.

where do i get the driver cleaner. I'm using the DFI lanparty ut s754, and it is stock chipset driver. I reformat my winxp, and now i got 4780 in 3dmark05 with everything on stock setting, is this a normal score for 6800gt on stock?? I still using 66.77, but want to switch to 66.81, so I'm not where to get the driver cleaner

4780 is right score in 3dmark05..

also have you installed the doom3 1.1 patch?

66.81 will give you at least 150 extra points when you run on 3mark03.. but I am using 66.77 coz when I use driver 66.81, I cant go up to 470/1200.
