I was considering getting a couple 512 MB DIMM's using Samsung K4H560838F-TCCD modules or the like and I don't know if any brands are significantly better when it comes to boards and assembly but PQI for $250 shipped looked relatively good compared to some of the "specialty" brands. But then Crucial can be had for the same. Then I saw PDP for $225 and their slightly slower LLK for $190. Finally, I stumbled upon Kingston for $222 after rebate from zipzoomfly (untill 12/6) so if I do pull the trigger there really isn't any question.

Just so you know, the Kingston modules are not made from the 'Brainpower'
PCB which are widely accepted as being superior OCers. Those $225 PDP might be
a better choice in that respect.

got OCZ pc3200 platinum 2-2-2-5 @480MHZ, 2-3-3-10@540MHZ
2.5-4-3-10@580 thats 2 dimm, 1dimm 2.5-3-3-10@608MHZ

Which memory does have Brainpower PCBs and which doesnt?

Somebody should do a sticky on which TCCD based modules use the
Brainpower PCB.

Here's my contribution:

There are 2 types of BrainPower PCBs :

1] B6U808
2] B6U815

Here's a review that highlights the differences between the PCB:

So far it's not 100% conclusive which OC better however many agree the 808 are superior.

We've been using BP for a long time and it was only since all these small companies came out with thier TCCD sticks that anyone else started to use them (they copied us :p)

Oh well we have a new PCB on the way so they can all try to find that one too :D

BTW can we see some memtest shots of that mushkin at 2-2-2 280FSB? Even I can say that is an amazing overclock for TCCD with 2-2-2 timings but I have a feeling you can't post 2 hours+ of memtest or can you?

Thanks for the heads-up. I have since read the articles comparing the same IC's on BP versus JEDEC reference PCB's and it does seem PDP is the best value (so long as they are in business as long as Kingston to honor the lifetime warrantee). chiefvalue is flogging the PDP for a few rupees less than newegg.

When can we expect this new stuff to hit the market? and how will we be able to tell the difference between it and the 3200 PL rev 2 ?

I am going to say that RAM has been the hardest of all my parts that I want to throw together for my new system, I just can't make up my mind. :bang head

Lol oh yeah, same here! It took me ages to finally decide which one i want.

I had

2x512 Infineon CL2.5 (2.5-3-3-6) @ 2.65v
2x256 Kingston HyperX PC4000 CL3 (3-4-4-8) @ 2.7v
2x512 Corsair XMS PC3200 CL2 (2-3-2-5) @ 2.7v
2x512 GEIL Ultra PC3700 CL2.5 (2.5-3-3-6) @ 2.7v
2x256 Mushkin Level II BH-5 (2-2-2-5 @ 2.8)

2x512 Crucial BallistiX PC3200 (2-2-2-5 @ 2.65v)

And all that in the past 12 months. The Crucial i have now seems to be the perfect choice and i will keep them until i upgrade to a new socket. But as you can see, it took me several tries to find the right stuff... and i wasted some money in the process. Ah well, im all set now!

Hey OCZsteve do you think you can send a PM over here too about the new PCB for the pc3200 PL rev2
