Hi. I'd like to know if anyone has my same problem: I can't set HTT multiplier to 3x (600mhz) or 2x (400 mhz) and have system stability
My goal would be 3x (to rise system stability with high fsb), but if I set it (with a 270mhz fsb or higher) the system (results change with different bios versions. Tried all, including betas):
-doesn't boot
-hangs while accessing HDD for the first time (not loading anything, just accessing)
-gives me a fault page error (or something like that) while accessing HDD for the first time
-doesn't find ntldr
No luck trying different setting, voltage. I never reached Windows a single time. Same result using SATA or PATA.
Using 2x multiplier let me load Windows, but system is instable while using AGP bus (3DMark hangs). No other errors.
4x multiplier (800mhz), *with the same fsb* works fine!
5x (1000mhz) multiplier automatically gives me 4x multiplier (tested with Sandra).
I don't know if that's a problem related with new Winchester core or something else. But I can't understand how Anandtech reached 289mhz fsb without lowering HTT, so I assume HTT multiplier worked for him.
Do HTT multiplier work for you? Is so, which processor core are you using?
Thanks.
