So then it is a 256bit card, what you can do is intall the omega drivers and check the option to softmod a 9500, then if it works without any artifact then you can flash the card if you want.

wait a sec a 256bit version exist ?? for 9500pro didnt knoe tht .. and do u have any links to any bios ....

i heard about a the 9500 np to 9700 but never anything about the 9500pro ..

go here to find out what your card will mod to http://www.techpowerup.com/softmod/faq.php it will at least go 9500 Pro (I memory layout) hopefully to 9700 (if L memory layout). The only diff between 9700 and 9700 Pro is core and mem speed, my 9500 is enabled to 9700 and running at almost 9700 Pro speeds some go higher some don't go as far.

if his is a 9500pro, hes got 8 pipes and 128 bits. I never heard of any modding to 256 bits. 9500np L shape is 4 pipes and 256 bits out of the box, this is why before a softmod mines as good as a 9600xt and very close to a 9500pro. modding makes mine a 9700 and it overclocks to a pro

The softmod only unlocks pipes, so its for 9500 Non-pro (which has 4 pipes), the pro already has 8 pipes.

Exactly. The only difference between a 9500pro and a 9700 is that the 9700 has 256-bit memory. If he truly has a 9500pro his L shaped RAM, then he's got a honest to goodness 9700 on his hands without the need for any softmods (since the extra memory bandwidth dosen't require the softmod to use). However, I've never heard of a 9500pro with L shaped RAM, so it's likely a 9500np (and thus will need the softmod to open up the 4 remaining pipes to turn it into a full fledged 9700).

I saw on ebay once an L card advertised as a 9500 pro, probably the wrong picture but there could be some with BIOS disabling the mem bandwidth possibly?

yeah like when i bought my 9800 256 MB se from microland and thought it was an L layout card (and i though i would be the first peron to mod one to a proper xt :(
