yeah, I know about that, but avatar (the poster above) works for dell, and apparently they are starting to use ATX. I have it in my possession now, so I am going to crack it open and see what is inside.

Most of the Dells I had experience with were manufactured around 2001-early 2003, most were non-standard sizes. Somewhere around 2004 they started using more standard equipment, but still....

i would seriously consider buying a new system. i am doing this now after buying my dell 2.4ghz p4. the mobo has no agp slot and the psu is only 200watts. you can forget about graphics on any dell other than the xps.

Yeah, the PCI-E GeForce 6800 on the Dim4700 and the 6800, 6800 GT and X800XT on the Dim8400 are all pretty worthless huh?

Ghetto, actually, it started just after the Dimension 8100. All systems after the 4300 used standard ATX I believe (2300, 2350, 2400, 4300, 4400, 4500, 4550, 4600, 4700, 8200, 8250, 8300, 8400). The manuals at http://support.dell.com should have the psu pinouts in it, like the link I put earlier if you want to confirm for yourself.
