Just out of curiosity, where did you hear there were a lot of defects with Thermalright. If you you heard that from the forums recently, thats just one person experience and really shouldn't influence your decision too much, and in case you havent guessed I would get the Thermalright.

My vote still stands with the hyper6

Ed suggested the TR for my first build and I'm glad I got it. Dunno abt the XP-120 but if you find an SKL948U snag it a.s.a.p!!
or
Let me know and I'll get it!

My vote to the TR.

xp-120 it will take a 120mm fan which will be quieter (read my sticky up top).
I read it, I don't think you have the hyper6. And the reason why I want the coolermater fan is just becuase of the Blue LEDS

Then you've made your decision. Pretty lights dont make a better hs, but its your money.

EDIT: Dont get me wrong, the hyper may be a good hs, but in case you havent seen the hundreds of fans sold seperatly with leds.

as u can see in my rig, i choose Thermalright... not because its better than hyper6, but when i got it, never had a problem with it, installed it in like 4 mins? :)

Skip them both and go with the Coolermaster Hyper 48. It takes a 92mm fan and outcools the Hyper48. It can take my 2.8C @ 3.5 and get it down to 3c with an external cooling mod.

What kind of "external cooling mod" gets you below room ambient like that?
