For my current project, I've decided a slot-load dvd/cd-rw combo drive is gonna be necessary. I've searched everywhere... Anyone know where to get one?

I looked on Pioneer because I knew they made one. They have one current model, and it is a SCSI drive. So as far as I know, slot load drives aren't made for IDE anymore. A good model is a Pioneer DVD-106S, if you can find one used.

I've always wanted to gut an old toaster and put in two slot load drives with external interfaces.

That laptop converter thinger looks pretty tempting. I'd like to go with normal IDE simply because laptop drives are expensive, but laptop drives DO have their advantages... Thanks for the help!
