how do you connect a cpu to an hdtv?

I have a tv and dvi in and a videocard with a dvi out i hook the up together and my tv chops off the tops and bottem at 1024/768. When i hook my monitor up(which i need to see) and raise the resolution above 1024/768 my monitor say "out of range". My tv should be capable of 1366/768 so does any one have any custom drivers or anything that will help me out?

    My TV= KF-50XBR800

can't you just go to settings and change the resoloution while you are running your TV? I think that should work.
