Trying to find something a little different to do, I decided to install Starwars: rogue squadron on my box. Problem is, I can't get it to install.

It will bring up the install splash screen, I select install, and I get an error that says:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

CLOSE IGNORE

Both buttons have the same effect, closing the install program.

I'm running XP Pro, and my C drive is NTFS file system. I tried running the install program in in 95 compatibility mode, but no good..

Any help out there?

some games just will not run on XP no matter what...best thing to do is look for a update patch...some older games have windows XP updates/patchs out for them...

I'm seeing this.. I can't even get the installer to run, let alone trying to get the actual program to run, so nothing to patch.. looks like if I want to run these, it'll be a dual boot for me..

Nah, get DOSBox, works like a charm, a bit confusing to use at first, but once you get the basics down, it's a piece of cake. :D

This is another good site, it can save you a lot of time hunting down patches.
