is it important to change it?

Yes it is, its like buying a ata-133 harddrive and have it run at ata-100,
Im not sure of the speed diff though, but i can tell between my seagate ata100 and my maxtor ata133.

SATA is not the same as running in UDMA mode. It's different. UDMA6 = ATA133 = 133MB/sec. SATA = 150MB/sec.

You shouldn't worry anyways. No single drive can even hit 100MB/sec, let alone 133 or 150.
