They are fairly decent, however we usually recommend fortron. Will it be powering your main rig, your media rig, or perhaps a whole new system?

yea there about middle of the pack with TT, smart powers, vantecs. not bad, not great, but a good deal for the money

I wouldn't skimp that much, with that vid. card and cpu. Your already getting just a DECENT psu, So go for a 500 watt or atleast 430watt.

Generally, PSU's aren't the best place to cut corners.

It should be ok, but if you have 15 bucks more you could get the 450watter.

yeah, im sure a 400w is fine, i was just wondering about the brand, as long as it isn't like POWmax

agreed, but i think coolmax is a good company. i would want him to buy a powmax, or an allied, but i think this is a good buy. i have a coolmax 3.5" external hdd enclosure with an 80gb seagate 8mb cache, and i love it. i can recommend one other psu in that price range here:

my friend has it running an a64 3200+, 6800gt, 1gb ram, 200gb hdd, no problems.
