I upgraded from the stock intel heat sink and fan with Thermaltake P4 Spark 7+ Xaser. MY temps took huge drop from 70c to 45c with the new heat sink and fan! Gotta be one best upgrades I have added for cooling. My case has two intake fans and one excaust fan. 120mm, 80mm intakes front and side. Back has one 120mm. I'm loving this right now. :santa:
 
hmm, a 25C drop? thermaltake is ok, but i refuse to believe it's that much better... it's probably a combination of your stock hs making poor contact with your cpu and better quality TIM on the new hs
 
sure you didn't knock a temp sensor out of place or something??

did you clean out your case of dust/re-wire at the same time you changed your heatsink??

Exactly, might just have been a proper reseat that took off 10 degrees.
