I don't think the word "only" applies in this case since that cpu cost more than my entire computer

Yeah thats nuts, like 1800 Aus$ as well,

but remeber this chip isnt just dual core, it is their special hyper threaded dual core chip, so you have 4 cpu's (virtually anyway). It may turn out this chip is a true computing overlord.

Or it could be crap and overheat like most other 90nm intels

let us begin the quest to find someone silly enough to buy it then ask him 400 Questions per day

Its an EE, what do you expect.

Most EEs sell for $1000+ I think $1200 is a deal considering.

    2 Logical and 2 Virtual.

EEs will be the only dual core so far with HT.

If you plan on overclocking another $700 for a prometia. According to BERKUT over at XS linky this thing was maxing out his prometia. 45°c CPU temp on his prommy that should keep it at about 0°c or better.
Big changes coming: Intel e4300, DFI Blood iron, Crucial DDR2-8500, ATI x859xt, MCW-6002>Ehiem 1250>Bip3 with 3 nidec beta Vs, Sunbeam Zorro, Corsair 650 watter
Stuff I should be using but don't: Finally got around to running that stuff.
