Win XP Help!

I have been unable to find a reg fix for this, so I thought I'd make a post and ask around here.


I have a few shortcuts on my desktop that I use when I want to save files. For some reason now (recently formatted - clean install of XP), when I hit Save-As and double click the shortcut, rather than take me to the folder to which the shortcut points, it tries to save the file as the shortcut name.

Any ideas how to fix this?

are these freshly created shortcuts?

Does the path in the "Target" field of the shortcut's properties point to the correct file folder?

^^ Yes and yes.

I just noticed that it only happens when I save from Firefox. It must be a bug there, not with Windows.
