I think I just fired this mobo (not sure)

Well...I had a HP Celeron system running, i dropped a fan grill maybe one inch onto it, and i see everything shut down. So i was like, ****e ****e and unplugged it...a little while later later, maybe a minute or two you could smell that fried circuity smell...It still turned on afterwards but it didnt post or boot Please tell me that i only killed the mobo..

Dropped the grill on what?
