If your overclocking you can get a cheaper CPU such as the 3000+. I'd also loser the Raptor as it is not much faster in real-world performance while costing a lot more. Also why spend so much on RAM? You can get 2GB for that price. Just get the XP-90 w/ 92mm Panaflo and get a X800XL from Monarch for $250.
 
he's a non clocker. x850xtpe? well i know its the best but by how much does it really out perform the other cards

It is not worth it unless he plans on gaming at really high resolutions.
 
ok right now its SAPPHIRE x800xl or Msi? san diego 3700+ and xp-90 with panaflo. any other ideas?
 
If he's gonna run at stock get something else besides from the DFI board, they're kinda finicky but they're great for OCers. Also, if you're going to spend that much on high end stuff, I'd get a bigger harddrive then a 160gb (or 2 harddrives) unless of course he really doesn't need the space.
