my 830 Intel Dual Core only shows 1 core in cpu-z and windows task manager. im using the p5wd2 premium motherboard. is there something I need to do?

Check in device manager under 'computer' if it states 'ACPI Multiprocessor PC' or 'Standard Multiprocessor PC'. If not, probably some setting in BIOS wasn't correctly enabled and you need to re-install Windows. I don't have a dual-core but if I disable 'HT' in BIOS I get the same result. I'm sure other dual-core owners can tell us what setting is off...

ok well I formatted and installed the 64bit edition of windows this time and it picks up both processors.

Have you had any driver problems with Win64? I tried it a while back but ended up temporarily going back to WinXP because of driver issues.
