I wanted to extend some wires to a molex connector on my PSU so I bought some wire. I didn't notice that it was SOLID wire, instead of the usual wire that it composed of many thin wires.

Will this cause a problem, or is this type of wire just more expensive for the PSU companies to make or something?

Ahh, that makes sense. These wires should only be touched once while I'm wiring things in the back, so it should be fine.

Thanks again! :D

FYI the "many thin wires" are commonly called stranded. And the solid should be fine as long as you make it a one time set up and then leave it alone for the rest of its life.

Like others said as long as they are the right guage they should be fine. 24AWG @ 7amps, 22AWG@10A, 20AWG@13A and 18AWG@18A. :)

Should work fine. Even better if you need it to stay bent.
