Hngs when shutting down?

Any Ideas on why it would hang so long before shutting down? "DFI Ultra D" never use to shut down and it would in a snap now take about 1-2 min to shut down btw this is a new M/B and cpu...DFI Ultra-D 3700 san diego cpu and 7800gtx v/c.....

Not sure here, since all my hanging while shutting down were mainly due to USB devices.

But you can try a free program called tuneXP which has a feature to tune Windows XP to shut down faster. Knocks about 7 secs off my shut down.

I ended up doing a XP repair and it instant now Thanks......

The cause for that is usually either 1) OS is messed up 2) Spyware
