ATI retracting next gen. cards?

I was reading a thread about ATI retracting their next generation cards. Is this true? I couldn't tell when that post was made and I saw another thread saying they would be out this october.

the time they said it would be out in OCt and have 512bit ram a day or on the same day was the rumour they were pulling the cards - but no official word from ATi yet.
