Radeon 9000 Text Corruption

This is more a general interest post than wanting a fix but, i have a Radeon 9000 which in text mode during boot up or when in dos shows an awful lot of corruption, invalid characters and missing characters as well as some areas being fixed characters, basically a complete mess. Im guessing this is due to some burnt out memory on the card, does anyone else have a better idea ?
Il point out apart from in text mode the card works perfectly even in 3d games there is no corruption atall, the card has also been tried in multiple machines and even cleaned in an attempt to fix it as its very offputting seeing the bios corrupt lol.
