using loose leds

i got these 5mm red LEDS. link below, i was wondering what power source i would use to power these? inside my case. the 5v molex blows them out and the 12v, sorta melts them..lol

I'm guessing you'll need to use a resistor to get the voltage down for the 2-2.6V called for on those LEDs . This way you can power them using whatever voltage you want as long as the proper resistor is used.

hmm ok, whats the voltage coming off HDD lights on the mobo?

That should be fine, without a resistor. It should be around 2.6-3.3

yep i did it, didnt need one, its a little darker now but at least its RED! looks soo badass ill take a pic later
