Ati drivers and .net

Hello

I was just wondering what is up with ati new drivers and .net inbeaded in them. Are they collecting info or spying on us? Any ideas.

the whole .net deal i do believe was to be ready for unified driver management with windows vista and nvidia will have to jump on the bandwagon soon enough

I really don't know the "why" part, but AFAIK, it's only if you run the full CCC (Catalyst Control Center). I just d/l the separate driver file from the dial-up section and install that alone...no .NET and no problems.
