diabling wifi (my laptop has a switch) and turning down the screen brightness are the 2 easiest methods to save the battery.

/me would love to have a switch to completely switch off the backlight. There aren't many cases where there's sufficient ambient light to do without, but it'd be nice anyway. Perhaps throw in some better reflective material on the back of the LCD (I don't think they use anything horribly great) so passive use will be easier.
