I need to get some good 120mm fans, can anyone recommend a good brand and place to buy them?

well you need to figure out if you want high speed, quiteness, or reliable. I have 3 sunon 120mm fans they are each 108cfm with a 4 pin pass through line, i have seen 120mm fans that blow 131cfm and i have seen some that do 50cfm

Used to be that YS Tech was the sole maker of 125 cfm+ 120mm's. Dunno if this is still true. According to millisec.com,
they recommended the 108 cfm Sunon 120mm over the YS Tech, as it was a better quality fan. I also don't know if that is gospel, or not.

Panaflo's seem to be considered the best case fans.

I have two of the 108 cfm Sunon 120mm's in two boxes. They've worked well for ~1 year, and I have no complaints. The capacity of the case fannage you need depends on a lot of variables. As a rule, an Athlon box needs 100 cfm of throughput, and that's when not overclocked. 150 cfm is appropriate for an OC'd Thunderbird machine. It's said that more than 150 cfm through your case is a waste. I don't know if that is gospel, either.

The 108 cfm Sunon 120mm's are loud. The ~125 cfm 120mm YS Tech's are LOUD. If you wish to move a lot of air through your case quietly, two or even three(for an OC'd K7 box) low volume 120mm's ~65 cfm- need to be used.

Keep in mind: 120mm intake fans must be filtered. The inside of your box will look like the Sargasso Sea in six weeks of 24/7 with no fan filter, substituting brown for green of course.

Reliable cooling specialist etailers I've dealt with are: www.millisec.com , www.1coolpc.com , and www.2cooltek.com . My personal fave is Millisec.

well if you want them very cheap you can get 3 120mm fans here for 10$,thats not for each fan thats for all 3! I ordered them a while back and they are very nice.I cant remember the name of the company that makes them because i took the stickers off but i looked them up and they are 93cfm and fairly quiet,i took one apart because i was going to do the led mod to them but i couldnt because the insides are all metal not plastic so i know they are high quailty.anyways they are mounted in a server rack plate when you get them but they come out as normal and have the grills and they are new,i thought they might be used for that price, geez i sound like a salseman,im done now:)

I had 80mm Sunons for a long time but upgraded to Comair-Rotron lately...they're a little on the expensive side ($15 or so for an 80x25) but they use die cast zinc alloy frames (heavy) and feathered PVC impellers. High CFM and pressure with not much noise either. They're made in USA and can be found (for a price) in the Newark Electronics catalog (along with papst, NMB and Dayton, all high quality made-in-USA brands) that's meant for OEMs and companies but they can be found for cheap in surplus catalogs like herbach and rademan and American science & surplus. Panaflos are good and quiet but if you want higher flow go with Sunon....for both go with Rotron.

go to bgmicro and get the COMAIR ROTRON
these 6in fans push 235cfm and you can run 3 of them off a 300watt psu.
I've o/ced my system even more
1.2 now at 1.42
and I still idle at 26C-27C and full load 35C.
Check my outdated sig
