Okay, this doesn't really seem relevent to put in the Motherboards section as it pertains more to how power and voltages are handled, but I am wondering how power from the power supply is regulated and stabilized.
We hear talk of 4-phase, 6-phase, and now 8-phase power regulation, but what exactly does that mean? What components are used to stabilize the power and how do they do it?
