Instead of using resistors, would a peltier be useful for making a cpu die simulator?

Any comments on this would be helpfull :)
 
You would need either a large heat source on the other side or a lot of volts running though it to get it to useable temperatures in a reasonable amount of time. We use resistors fer a reason: Its easier.
 
Can resistors be controlled, so that it emulates an cpu at idle speeds, and one at max loa d?
