my latest BIOS has the option to enable a setting called "chassis intrusion control". what is it?!
my mobo is an asus CUV4X-E

Just a guess here, but I'd say that if it receives a reading from a switch on the case that it's open, the system won't boot or shuts down. Probably something an admin would use.
 
We used this at my old job and a couple others (present included).

When someone opens the case a message is displayed at the BIOS POST level that indicates the case has been opened.

It takes a BIOS admin password to reset it.

We used this in company with our SMS system so we were notified when it happened.
