right now my small fan on my chipset is loud. i installed asus probe and i c that the small fan is goin at 5400+rpm (0.o). in probe there is a settin where i can set it at what ever i want. im planing to set it at 2800rpm. is that gonna hurt my chip? i mean is the fan gonna keep it cool at that speed

If you want quieter operatoin, You are better off getting a BIGGER heatsink for it, and probably a low RPM fan. Nforce4 chipsets run hot unfortunately, and most boards have loud coolers for them.

Also make sure floppy drive is enabled in the BIOS for more stable operation, and the ability to overclock from the BIOS :p
